A & N and SFHS idea presents
North meets South part III
Ashesh and Nekhvam together with Seljord Folk High School band (Norway) in association with Nepal Music Centre and CWIN is back again with their musical venture North meets South!! As the name suggests North meets south literally is an event where musicians from the North (Norway) share their musical affinity with Nepalese artists.
The third in the row in Nepal, North meets South kick started back in 2010 with Ashesh Dangol (lead vocals/guitar, A&N)’s workshop in Seljord Folk High School, Norway. Since then there’s no stopping this musical odyssey! The North meets South 2011 event in Gurukul theatre, Kathmandu was a major hit followed by the N m S 2012 in UWTC, Kathmandu. This year however, N m S has been declared a free concert in the sub metropolitan Bhaktapur advocating child rights as its major theme. The concert is also a part of the A & N “education for children” and SFHS solidarity project associated with CWIN that focuses on child rights, child labor, and street children of Nepal.
Corresponding to the previous years, the 2013 event will have Ashesh and Nekhvam (A&N), Kjetil in Saxophone (musician and teacher from Seljord Folk high school ,Norway) Seljord folk high school students’ band and also Nepal Music Center and Cwin is also going to participate . The cultural event is set to take place in the beautiful Dattatreya square in Bhaktapur, catering to music lovers of all genre and background.
The event is also managed by Dattatraya Square, Bhaktapur, National Youth Federation Nepal, Bhaktapur, Rotaract Club of Bhaktapur, SCI, Bhaktapur and Capital FM 92.4 as the official media partner.
Seljord Folk high school Norway is one-year boarding school based on the idea of learning for life, not only for occupations and degrees. A&N - Ashesh and Nekhvam, a blues based Nepalese band, has been touring Europe (Spain, Norway, Germany, England and Scotland)since 2007. Ashesh Dangol (Guitar/Vocal) is also known as the ‘Himalayan Hendrix’ in Europe.
