Lack of education can make people think in different way.
While Saturday is the fun day for children in Halchowk, for Elders it’s the drinking day. And for few families, it’s working day at their own house.

We have seen lots of opportunity in Halchowk. It can be next tourist destination. If we can build resorts and use the manpower of Halchowk, it can make lots of difference in the life of people of Halchowk. The view of Kathmandu city from Halchowk is very beautiful. The fresh breeze and the beautiful landscape is another charm of Halchowk. Small hiking and cycling route is another possibility.
Health post and police station need to be built and the government school at Halchowk needs to be relocated as soon as possible.

The manpower of Halchowk goes to different areas of Kathmandu as construction and labor workers. Government should utilize them to rebuild Halchowk first and train them to build the Earthquake proof houses.

Laxmi Karki (42) came to Halchowk with her husband Uddhab Singh more than 20 years ago. Uddhab works in Radio Nepal. Uddab had heart attack one day before the massive Earthquake and was hospitalized for 17 days in Gangalal Hospital. Uddab is also suffering from diabetes. “We have spent all our money in my husband’s treatment and now our house is also damaged badly by the Earthquake”, Laxmi expressed in her sad voice.

Lots of people are asking are we NGOs or INGOs?
No, definitely not. We are just Family and Friends working in different sectors, Musician, Sportsperson, Yoga teacher, Businessmen, Photographer, Journalist etc………

“We are humans”

Love
Ashesh
